MSI is delighted to announce that Sean Bruich, Nike, Inc., has been elected Chair of the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees. In this role he will lead the Committee, a distinguished group of Trustees from top global companies, in governing and advising MSI on policies, programs, and priorities.

Sean is Vice President, Membership and Consumer Data Science, Analytics, and Insights at Nike, Inc. He has been a member of MSI’s Board of Trustees since 2012, first as a Trustee for Facebook, Inc., and since 2014, for Nike, Inc. He joined the Executive Committee in 2016 and has contributed to several major initiatives.

“Sean is the ideal marketing executive to steward the continued growth and impact of MSI,” said President Cheryl Toto. “His leadership as Treasurer and head of the Finance and Audit Committee demonstrates his acumen, clarity of vision, and deep expertise in the issues most relevant to our members. I look forward to working with Sean to shape the Institute for the future.”

Sean succeeds Ed Buckley, UPS, who joined MSI as a Trustee in 2006, was appointed to the Executive Committee in 2009, and served as Chair from 2017-2018. “Ed contributed significantly to the Institute over the course of his tenure,” Cheryl noted. “His commitment to the mission and people of MSI was evident in everything he did. I am particularly grateful for his support and wise counsel during our leadership transition.”

“I am excited to work with such a strong and diverse Executive Committee. MSI continues to attract top talent to its governing board.”

In September, MSI also appointed Brian Cooper, Juniper Networks, and Shannon Nutter-Wiersbitzky, The Vanguard Group, as new members of the Executive Committee. Brian is Senior Director, Marketing Analytics and Decision Sciences at Juniper Networks, and has been a Trustee since 2016. Shannon is Principal, Head of Participant Strategy and Development, The Vanguard Group, which she has represented as a Trustee since 2008.

“I am excited to work with such a strong and diverse Executive Committee. MSI continues to attract top talent to its governing board. The expertise of these executives ensure that we will continue to evolve to meet the changing needs of our corporate and academic partners,” Cheryl said. “I am grateful to Sean, Brian, and Shannon – and all our Executive Committee members – for their dedication to MSI and for generously sharing their time and expertise to further its mission.”
