MSI Announces Executive Director for 2024-2026

The Marketing Science Institute (MSI) is proud to announce Tulin Erdem, Leonard N. Stern School of Business, New York University, as the MSI Executive Director for 2024-2026. She succeeds John G. Lynch, Jr., Leeds School of Business, University of Colorado Boulder, and will begin her MSI appointment in July 2024. 

Erdem, currently the Leonard N. Stern Professor of Business and Professor of Marketing at the Stern School of Business at New York University, previously served as the Chair of the Marketing Department from 2017 to 2023.  

Additionally, Erdem has also served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Marketing Research from 2009 to 2012. She also held positions as an associate editor at Marketing Science, Journal of Consumer Research, and Quantitative Marketing and Economics. Her recent research focuses on consumer attention and search, utilizing eye-tracking measures to predict and comprehend brand choices through formal models. 

Prior to her tenure at Stern in 2006, Tulin Erdem held the position of E.T. Grether Professor of Business Administration and Marketing at the Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley. During her time at Berkeley, she also served as the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Marketing Group Chair, and Ph.D. Director at the Haas School of Business. 

Erdem has garnered recognition for her scholarly contributions, receiving best paper awards and substantial research grants, including two major National Science Foundation grants. Furthermore, Erdem has made notable contributions to the field as the President of INFORMS Marketing Society (ISMS). 

As Executive Director, she will work closely with MSI and ARF leadership to ensure that MSI’s research program continues to adapt and meet the needs of today’s leading marketers.
