Founded in 1961 to “bridge the gap” between academic marketing theory and business practice, today MSI is a network of executives from approximately 70 sponsoring corporations and leading researchers from over 100 universities worldwide.
Companies join MSI because it is the most time- and cost-effective way to stay in touch with the leading thinkers and practitioners in marketing. While other organizations offer benchmarking “best practice,” MSI members have first access to the “next practice” that will be essential to meeting emerging business challenges.
At conferences, academic speakers offer a first look at new research findings and executive speakers share their knowledge and experiences. Publications provide early access to leading-edge knowledge and practical implications for marketers.
For an annual membership fee of $38,500, MSI member companies may appoint up to eight Trustees. MSI Trustees (or their delegates) may attend Spring and Fall Trustees Meetings, where marketing thought leaders exchange knowledge and insight on critical business issues. Trustees also vote on MSI’s biennial Research Priorities, which serve as the gold standard for marketing academics worldwide.
