The Impact of Product Line Extensions and Consumer Goals on the Formation of Price Image

Proposes and tests the theory that upscale product line extensions can decrease rather than increase price image (and vice versa for downscale extensions) as a function of consumer goals, in particular, whether consumers intend to browse or buy.
