The Persuasive Effect of Fox News: Non-Compliance with Social Distancing During the Covid-19 Pandemic

Analyzes the impact of preferences for cable TV viewing on consumer behavior (staying at home as a form of social distancing). The random factor of where a specific cable channel appears in the available range across geographies is used as an instrument in the causal model to estimate the incremental effect of viewership on behavior.
