Examines the economic value of meta-report cards through the mechanisms of search cost reduction and quality assurance. Based on U.S. News & World Report ratings and data from multiple other sources, estimates a nested logit demand model for brand choice with aggregate data and includes the USNWR rating as an endogenous product characteristic.
