MSI and SEI Launch Competition to Support Research on Sales Today

MSI and the Sales Excellence Institute (SEI) at the University of Houston have launched a research competition to stimulate new thinking on professional selling and sales force management.
While a socially connected global marketplace is re-defining the ways goods are bought and sold, academic teaching and research have failed to keep pace. The competition aims to help bridge this gap. Grant awards ranging from $5,000-$25,000 will support high-quality research on critical questions including:
- How is the digital economy changing the way that sales and marketing organizations engage with their customers?
- How is consultative selling changing in a more transparent marketplace?
- How are key account management practices changing as major accounts have become global in scope?
Funding decisions will be announced in June 2013, and winners will be invited to present their research at a spring 2014 conference on “Thought Leadership on the Sales Profession” at Columbia University.
